Volunteer with the City of Melville

Repair Lab is a free community drop-in event where skilled volunteers help you repair bikes, small electricals, household items, and textiles, keeping valuable items out of landfill.

We're also looking for volunteers to help out!
You could be:
Repairing broken items
Answering questions and welcoming guests
Helping set up and pack down the event

It's a great way to share your skills, meet people, and support sustainability in our community

Did you know our Community Bus Service has been running for over 20 years? Proudly owned and operated by the City of Melville, with Melville Cares managing bookings and volunteer drivers, the service helps local groups and individuals who face transport challenges stay connected and involved in the community.

Not-for-profit organisations can book the buses to take members on outings and to activities, helping foster social connection and improve quality of life. We're currently seeking volunteer drivers! We’re flexible with your availability and here to support you every step of the way in your volunteering journey.

Digital Support Volunteer – Aged Care App Project

Are you patient, friendly and confident using mobile apps? We’re looking for volunteers to support aged‑care clients as they transition to a new online service management tool.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys helping others, communicates clearly, and is keen to make technology feel more accessible for older community members.

Join the Citizens Advice Bureau team and assist the community by answering client enquiries on a wide range of topics by phone, email and in person, and schedule appointments for their legal and other services.

Chorus are looking for energetic, team focused individuals to join their weekday kitchen crew in Palmyra.
Help prepare and pack meals that support members of the Melville community with access to healthy food.
Tasks include veggie prep, dishwashing and meal packaging in a fast paced, friendly environment.

Bicton Environmental Action Group is looking for extra hands to help water natural areas at Blackwall Reach Reserve over the summer months.
Watering takes place early in the morning on Saturdays and some weekdays, helping winter plantings survive and thrive through the hotter weather.
