The Printmakers Association of Western Australia (PAWA) supports printmakers through networking, exhibitions, and skill-sharing opportunities. Open to both professionals and beginners, PAWA encourages experimentation and excellence in printmaking.
Founded in 1974, PAWA promotes the appreciation and collection of fine art prints across Western Australia, embracing both traditional techniques—etching, lithography, lino-cuts, and screen printing—and contemporary methods like digital and laser engraving.
Based at Atwell House & Gallery, PAWA organizes group exhibitions, workshops, guest speakers, and print collection tours, fostering a vibrant community for printmakers to connect, learn, and create. To learn more visit the PAWA website.
The Atwell Arts Centre Hand Spinners, established in 1978, is one of the founding groups of the Atwell Arts Centre in Alfred Cove, Western Australia. Their fundraising efforts significantly contributed to the construction of Atwell Gallery.
The group welcomes spinners, knitters, crocheters, and other textile artists, providing a collaborative environment for individuals passionate about fibre arts. Meetings are held every Tuesday from 12.30pm to 3.30pm at Atwell House.
These gatherings offer members opportunities to share skills, work on projects, and engage with a community of like-minded crafters. For more information or to get involved, interested individuals can contact the group through the Handweavers, Spinners and Dyers Guild of Western Australia's website.
The Aboriginal Art Group, started in 2021 at the Willagee Community Centre, has grown into a meeting and networking place for Aboriginal artists from all areas.
Now based at Atwell House - the program fosters a culturally safe space where First Nations visual artists come together and build positive relationships while developing and exploring their arts practice.
