About Write Club

Write Club is a writer and artist in residence project developed by our creative learning team that brings accomplished Western Australian authors and artists into the classroom to help young writers put pen to paper and bring their stories to life.

Supported by our library and cultural services staff, Write Club helps to develop key skills in literacy, critical thinking and self-confidence. Students work on a single piece of writing that responds to a theme and their writing is then published into a book, with accompanying artwork, which is celebrated with a book launch and exhibition.

Current Exhibition

'Somewhere Out There'

Wednesday, 26 November to Sunday, 21 December 2025

Stop past and experience the exhibition Somewhere Out There - an anthology of creative writing and artwork by young artists.

This exhibition is the culmination of WRITE CLUB, a program that supported author Deb Fitzpatrick and artist Zali Morgan to work with the Year 6 students of Caralee Community School in 2025. Each student responded to the theme 'Somewhere Out There', and these stories and lino-prints are the result of their creativity and dedication.

Exhibition opening times
Wednesday to Friday, 10.00am to 4.00pm
Saturday and Sunday, 10.00am to 3.00pm
