On 3.09pm, Saturday 8 November, one of our MelSafe officers reported a bushfire at Yagan Mia Wireless Hill Park to emergency services and our MelSafe team subsequently provided support with traffic management.
Emergency WA placed a Bushfire Watch and Act Alert for Wireless Hill Park and parts of Applecross, Ardross, and Booragoon.
As of 11.30am, Monday 10 November, the site was reported as clear and reopened to the public.
The fire saw 10.5 hectares of vegetation damaged, including the loss of one park bench.
At this stage, the Yagan Mia Wireless Hill bushfire is currently being treated as suspicious. WA Police are urging anyone who may have seen any suspicious persons or has any information or footage to contact Crime Stoppers at www.crimestopperswa.com.au or by calling 1800 333 000.
